The ‘Black Cuillin’ on the Isle of Skye is home to some of the most challenging scrambling and climbing terrain in the UK. The 13 km long Cuillin Ridge comprises 11 Munros and several other peaks of a similar height. Whether you’d like to do a full traverse, including the classic rock climbs, or simply enjoy a few days of Munro bagging, it’s always an extremely rewarding experience.
The Inaccessible Pinnacle (986m) or ‘Inn Pinn’ as it is fondly known, is a fine and formidable objective that sits atop Sgurr Dearg and is often regarded as the most difficult of the Scottish Munros to summit, as it requires some climbing skills and experience to do so. Equally spectacular and not to be underestimated are Skye’s highest mountain; Sgurr Alasdair (993m) and the magnificent Sgurr nan Gillean (965m) at the northern end of the ridge.
Classic rock climbs and scrambles are bountiful, many of which are situated around the iconic ‘Cioch’ which featured a dramatic sword fight in the 1986 cult classic film ‘The Highlander’. If you would like to arrange a trip to Skye to experience any of the above (we’ll provide plastic swords!) we’d be delighted to help.
