Activity Overview
Alongside the ever-popular and family-friendly activity of ghyll scrambling sits its bigger brother; Canyoning. This activity has been a big hit in many countries worldwide for decades and in recent years it has gained popularity here in the UK too. It requires a variety of skills that were originally developed in the disciplines of climbing and caving before it evolved into a distinct sport in its own right.
Typically, canyoning involves descending steep watercourses and gorges, via abseiling, ziplines, and jumps, or a combination of all three! We are proud to offer bespoke trips Canyoning in the Lake District but be warned, they are not for the faint-hearted! Check out this Red Bull canyoning article for some inspiration.
