Self Rescue and Problem Solving Overview
When things don’t go to plan, having the skills to solve problems quickly and calmly can make all the difference.
Our Self-Rescue & Problem-Solving course is designed for experienced climbers who want to become more capable and self-sufficient. We keep scenarios as realistic as possible.
What We’ll Cover
We’ll develop a core set of versatile techniques, including assisted and unassisted hoists, escaping the system, lowering past knots and managing more complex retreats. Rather than learning these skills in isolation, we’ll look at how to adapt and combine them to solve real climbing problems.
Starting with the fundamentals, we’ll progressively build towards more complex ropework and rescue scenarios, tailored to your existing experience. Venues are chosen to provide the best learning environment and may include an indoor climbing wall.
The aim is to develop the skills, judgement and confidence to deal with the unexpected when it matters.
